Thrive Awards 2017

On Saturday 25th November 2017, Staff and Cadets from across Thames Valley Wing attended the annual Wing awards spectacular at RAF Benson.

Nominated for the “Unsung Hero” category was Squadron Civilian Committee Vice-Chair, Ms Susie Sigsworth. Secretly nominated by her son (and Squadron Cadet) after realising at home how much work goes into making the Squadron a success, Ms Sigsworth was shortlisted and invited to attend the awards evening with the other two excellent finalists only to discover she had won.

Nominated due to her hard work on the Committee, Susie’s nomination shone through having led the committee through significant events in the Squadron calendar.

Speaking after the event, Flight Lieutenant Mike Caffrey, Officer Commanding 2120 Squadron said:

“Rarely do such candidates come to the fore; Ms Sigsworth is incredibly deserving of this award for her contribution to the successes of the Squadron and for both her leadership and teamwork displayed with the other committee members.”
